Lectures

From time to time Gould accepted invitations to lecture. On one of these occasions he spoke at the University of Cincinnati in the Corbett Music Lecture Series in 1963. It was Gould's conviction that, among composers, "in our century only two men, Arnold Schoenberg and Richard Strauss, could be deserving of the title 'giant'."8
